Rob Riddell, Psy.D.
Mindfulness Instructor
San Francisco

Dr. Riddell is a licensed psychologist in private practice in San Francisco. He recently completed his final two years of training at the San Mateo Medical Center, where he provided therapy to outpatients as well as medically and psychiatrically hospitalized inpatients. He also performed neuropsychological evaluations and taught mindfulness in an outpatient group setting. Rob’s dissertation research at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine focused on mindfulness training and cardiovascular reactivity.

Rob began his Vipassana meditation practice in 2000, and has sat retreats with many teachers from that lineage. From 2001-2005, he provided end-of-life presence and counseling as part of the Zen Hospice Project at the Laguna Honda Hospice. His yoga practice also began in 2000; his primary teacher has been friend and colleague Catherine Shaddix. Rob offers seminars on mindfulness to mental health provider training programs, and also teaches meditation to inmates at the San Francisco County jail.
